Frequently asked questions to Befree4iPhone/Befree4Android:



I have problems to connect to my PC. What is wrong?

Try the following steps to find the reason for the connection problem:
(1) Make sure that Befree4 is installed and started correctly. Befree4 can only used on Windows PC. It's not possible to install it on a Mac Computer. If Befree4 shows you some error messages after starting, check if your firewall- or antivirus-application can be the reason.
(2) On the main window of Befree4, you will find a (?)-button, next to the showed address. Click on these button and a new window will open. Here you can see all possible addresses you can use to connect to your PC from your mobil phone. Enter the address which is showed at "Home:" in the address bar of the browser in your mobil phone. Don't enter it in the search bar and don't add some text like "www." or ".com".
(3) If you can not connect to your PC with this, there are two possible reasons for this. First is, your mobil phone is not connected to your wireless network (if you have one) or there is a firewall application running on your PC which is blocking the request from outside.
(4) In case you are able to connect to your PC without problems by this way, your firewall and antivirus software is configured correctly. The problem may occur when you to connect to your PC from outside your local wireless LAN. Please notice, that you have to use the address showed at "Outside" in the window you opened with the (?)-button. This address is your current web IP-address given from your provider to your router. This address will change every day. To get a static address activate the option "activate constant web address" in the same window. You can use this constant web address for a bookmark in your phone browser.
(5) If it's not possible to connect to your PC over this "outside"-address or the constant web address, there is a "port forwarding" missing in your router configuration. You have to set a port forwarding for port "32191" in your router. Only with this, you can access your PC from outside over the internet.
(6) To configurate a port forwarding it's the best way to open the configuration area of Befree4 and click on "Network" and "Open" (next to "configurate your router"). This will open the router configuration website and also a small window which will show you the values you have to enter in your router. The next steps depend on the type of your router. In case you have problems to set up the port forwarding correctly, try to search the web for help, search for "port forwarding" and your router name. For example "port forwarding netgear". Also other applications need a port forwarding, so you will find help for doing this. Don't forget to save the configuration in your router when the port forwarding is entered correctly.
(7) If the port forwarding works correct, enter the "outside"-address or the constant web address in your phone browser. Then there should be no problem any more.
